Marina Ionescu is a psychotherapist, ISST-accredited trainer and supervisor, and Teaching Member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy. She has been in private practice in Bucharest, Romania, since 2006, working with adults, children, adolescents, and families in both sandplay therapy and transactional analysis.

Ionescu is the only ISST-accredited trainer in Romania and serves as President of the Institute for Sandplay Therapy (IST) in Romania, which she founded to develop the profession in her country. She represents Individual Members on the ISST Board.

Her dual expertise in sandplay therapy and transactional analysis provides a distinctive clinical framework, and her role in establishing sandplay therapy in Romania represents important work in extending the Kalffian tradition into Eastern Europe.
