Maria Kendler is a clinical psychologist and Teaching Member of both the Swiss Society for Sandplay Therapy (SGSST) and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy. She serves as ISST Vice-President for Europe and region.

Kendler has published in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy, including 'Taming the Beast: Transformation of the Negative Masculine in a Woman's Sandplay Process' (2013), and has presented on the transformative power of a playful attitude in philosophy, mythology, and sandplay therapy with adults.

Based in Switzerland, she practices within the direct geographical and institutional lineage of Dora Kalff's original work, carrying forward the tradition in its place of origin while serving as a leader in the international sandplay community.
