Lucia Azevedo is a psychologist, Jungian analyst, and Teaching Member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy. She graduated as a psychologist in 1980 and became a Jungian analyst and member of the Brazilian Society for Analytical Psychology (SBrPA) in 1987. She began her sandplay process in 1983.
Azevedo coordinated the sandplay study group in SBrPA from 2000 to 2010 before becoming a certified sandplay therapist with the Brazilian Institute for Sandplay Therapy (IBST) in 2015 and a Teaching Member in 2020. She currently serves as President of IBST and represents the organization on the ISST Board.
She teaches Sandplay and Adolescent Psychology in the SBrPA training program, bridging Jungian analytical training with sandplay therapy education in Brazil — the largest Portuguese-speaking Jungian community in the world.
