Braam Beetge holds an MA in Counselling Psychology and is a Certified Sandplay Therapist and Teaching Member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy. He is based in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Beetge is one of the seven founding members of the South African Sandplay Therapy Society (SASTS), which was established in 2021, marking a significant milestone in the development of sandplay therapy on the African continent. He serves as the SASTS representative on the ISST Board.

His work in establishing formal sandplay therapy infrastructure in South Africa represents the expansion of the Kalffian Jungian tradition into a region where depth psychology has deep historical roots through the influence of the C.G. Jung Institute and Jungian analytical psychology in Southern Africa.
