Jane Palmer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state with over twenty years of private psychotherapy practice in Seattle, WA. She is a humanistic, psychodynamically-oriented psychotherapist who has evolved into practicing an interpersonal neurobiological approach with an emphasis on somatic psychotherapy. She specializes in helping individuals recover from trauma, and also works with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and interpersonal relationship challenges, including couples therapy.
Prior to her psychology career, Jane worked in both government and business, focusing on organizational development and change, and holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She came to psychotherapy in mid-life, driven by a calling to relieve suffering and help people develop into their full potential. She previously worked at Group Health Cooperative as both a mental health counselor and a chemical dependency counselor, and also works as an executive coach and career counselor.
Jane holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle and a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College. She is certified in EMDR (EMDRIA), Lifespan Integration, Somatic Transformation, and Clinical Hypnotherapy, and is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association. She is a veteran member of the Allan N. Schore Seattle Study Group, reflecting her deep engagement with cutting-edge relational psychoanalytic and neuroscience-based approaches.
