Anne Gialanella is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) based in Washington, D.C., specializing in trauma-focused therapy for adult survivors of sexual abuse, physical abuse, and witness to violence. She also helps clients address depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and grief, providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their inner strengths and use those strengths to grow and heal.

Anne holds a Master's degree in Counseling for Mental Health & Wellness from New York University. Her integrated therapeutic approach combines traditional talk therapy with mindfulness, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the mind-body techniques of Somatic Experiencing. She also incorporates psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-based frameworks into her work.

Anne's clinical background spans a range of settings. She has worked at the D.C. Rape Crisis Center supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse and adult rape through individual and group therapy, and at Safe Shores, the DC Children's Advocacy Center, providing services to children and adolescents who experienced abuse, neglect, or witnessed violence. Additional experience includes roles at The George Washington University Counseling Center, The Viva Center, The School for Ethics and Global Leadership, and S.O.M.E., where she provided counseling to adults recovering from addiction.

In addition to her clinical practice, Anne offers EMDR consultation services for therapists who have completed EMDR Basic Training and are seeking consultation toward certification or to further develop their EMDR skills.
