Erika Tsoukanelis, LCSW, is an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist, approved consultant, and approved trainer who has devoted over thirty years to supporting individuals on their paths toward healing and transformation. She is the owner of Heart of Inquiry, a private psychotherapy practice in Westport, Connecticut, and serves as a Basic Training instructor for the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. Tsoukanelis received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Sarah Lawrence College in 1992 and her master's degree in social work from Columbia University's School of Social Work in 1996. Her clinical specializations encompass PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, and chronic illness, and she brings a holistic orientation to her work that integrates psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, somatic approaches, and contemplative practices. She is also a certified Kripalu Yoga instructor and incorporates mind-body healing principles throughout her therapeutic work. Tsoukanelis is recognized for her passion for transmuting cycles of trauma and suffering into opportunities for personal, familial, and communal growth.
