Katharine Bainbridge, M.A., M.F.T., is an IAAP Certified Jungian Analyst (certified 2009), licensed psychotherapist (licensed 1998), and Somatic Experiencing™ (SE®) Practitioner. Drawing on nearly 30 years of clinical experience, she practices a holistic, integrative, trauma-informed, and depth-oriented approach to psychotherapy that weaves together Western psychology, ancient wisdom traditions, modern neuroscience, somatic awareness, and interpersonal neurobiology. She also brings 30+ years of Tibetan Buddhist practice and shamanic training to her work, and leads retreats and workshops nationally.

Katharine works with people who are drawn toward psychological depth and the transformative healing of trauma — often those who feel they have very few places in our culture to explore the symbolic nature of the psyche with grounded support that includes both the body and nervous system. She believes our emotional lives are shaped by families of origin and early experiences, as well as by ancestral inheritance, epigenetics, collective distress, and echoes of historical trauma.

In sessions, Katharine draws on dreams, the body, and the imaginal realm to offer insight, clarity, direction, and hope. She sees local clients from the Los Angeles area in her private office in Encino, California. Her core belief is that within each individual resides an unbroken wholeness that is inherently creative and wise, and that healing ourselves has a direct effect on our families, communities, and planet.
