Faith Elie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) based in Detroit, Michigan, offering depth-oriented psychotherapy in person and online across Michigan and Florida. She holds dual master's degrees in Depth Psychology (Pacifica Graduate Institute) and Counseling Psychology, and is currently pursuing a PhD at CIIS with a somatic emphasis. She is one of very few practitioners simultaneously holding SEP, IFS Level 3, and a Jungian depth psychology degree.
Her therapeutic approach is holistic and trauma-informed, weaving together somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), EMDR, Jungian and transpersonal frameworks, mindfulness, attachment theory, sandtray therapy, and expressive arts. In sessions, clients may explore sensations, movement, breath, imagery, and parts work to support nervous system regulation and trauma integration. She works with complex developmental trauma, sexual trauma, attachment trauma, medical trauma, religious trauma, and chronic stress.
Faith is deeply committed to anti-oppression, social justice, feminist, and body-positive values. She is neurodiverse affirming and generally prefers not to pathologize or diagnose clients, recognizing the Euro-centric and historically oppressive roots of diagnostic frameworks. She welcomes clients of all cultures, races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. She also offers a land acknowledgement honoring the ancestral homeland of the Three Fires Confederacy in the Detroit area.
