Kenneth W. James, Ph.D., is a diplomate Jungian psychoanalyst in private practice in Chicago, Illinois, and the founder and director of The Soulwork Center, dedicated to facilitating the process of individuation as understood by C.G. Jung. He is a member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology and the Chicago Society of Jungian Analysts.

James holds a Ph.D. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from Northwestern University and a Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago. His intellectual formation extends well beyond clinical psychology: he pursued vocal music studies at the American Conservatory of Music, trained in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music at the Institute for Consciousness and Music in Baltimore, and completed four years of post-doctoral study in theology and scripture at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He also enjoyed a thirty-three-year career as a university professor, holding faculty positions at Roosevelt University, Northeastern Illinois University, and Northwestern University, and served as the first Director of Student Services at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools.

His clinical and scholarly interests center on dreamwork and psychoanalysis, the archetypal dimensions of analytic practice, divination and synchronicity, and the vital relationship between body, mind, and spirit. He has a particular interest in the intersection of Jungian thought, clinical practice, and esoterica, including work with Tarot as a tool for exploring the unconscious. He lectures and teaches widely on individuation, dreams, and consciousness studies.
