George B. Hogenson is a senior Jungian psychoanalyst and licensed clinical social worker practicing in the Chicago Loop, where he has maintained a clinical practice for over two decades. He holds a PhD in philosophy from Yale University and an MA in clinical social work from the University of Chicago, bringing a rare combination of rigorous philosophical training and clinical depth to his analytic work. He received his Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago in 1998 and has since risen to the rank of Senior Training Analyst at the Institute.

Hogenson's scholarly contributions to analytical psychology are widely recognized. He is the author of Jung's Struggle with Freud, originally his doctoral dissertation and now in its second edition, as well as numerous papers on archetypal theory, the nature of symbolism, and synchronicity that have helped reshape contemporary thinking in the field. He served as past Vice President of the International Association for Analytical Psychology and as president of the Chicago Society of Jungian Analysts from 2007 to 2009. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Analytical Psychology.

Clinically, Hogenson specializes in trauma, sexuality, aging-related concerns, and college and graduate student mental health.
