The CIIS Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research (CPTR) offers the first and most established academic certificate program in psychedelic-assisted therapies in the United States. The 10-month program requires 140-150 hours of coursework emphasizing therapeutic use of MDMA and classic psychedelics, with dedicated modules on ayahuasca, ibogaine, LSD, and cannabis. Participants complete approximately 120 hours of preparatory reading, process papers, a capstone paper or project, and a final exam (4-7 hours per week commitment). Cohorts run in San Francisco, Boston, and online. CIIS received a $1M grant from the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation to support the training program. The program has expanded eligibility beyond licensed therapists to include other qualified health professionals.
