Inner City Books was founded in Toronto in 1980 by the Canadian Jungian analyst Daryl Sharp on the principle that books on analytical psychology should be written by people who actually do the analytic work. Its single ongoing series, Studies in Jungian Psychology by Jungian Analysts, is a standing publishing experiment in the depth tradition: every volume is authored by a graduate analyst, and the press has no other line. The current general editor is Scott L. Milligen.
