Dr. Patrick Lap Sun Chu is a specialist psychiatrist and Jungian analyst practicing in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Born and raised in Hong Kong, he studied medicine at the University of Hong Kong and subsequently completed specialist training in psychiatry, working across various sub-specialties in public hospitals for approximately twenty years. During this period, he served as the Educational Supervisor of Psychotherapy for the Hospital Authority from 2008 to 2010, overseeing psychotherapy training standards within Hong Kong's public healthcare system.

Dr. Chu transitioned to private practice in 2010, maintaining a clinical focus that integrates medication management with a range of psychotherapeutic modalities. He holds fellowship status with both the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists and the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, and is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the United Kingdom. His psychotherapeutic training encompasses cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, psychoanalytic group therapy, hypnotherapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

As an IAAP-certified Jungian analyst and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Dr. Chu brings a distinctive depth-oriented and body-centred approach to psychiatric care. He treats anxiety and panic disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma, burnout, and midlife crisis. He describes himself as a "wounded healer" who has navigated his own psychological and spiritual challenges, and maintains a personal practice of Transcendental Meditation, Vipassana, mindfulness, and yoga.
