Dyane N. Sherwood, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Jungian Psychoanalyst (IAAP), and one of the few IAAP-certified child and adolescent Jungian analysts in the Midwest. She is President of both the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago and the IRSJA, and co-authored 'Transformation of the Psyche' with Joseph Henderson. She also founded Analytical Psychology Press.

Dr. Sherwood's analytic work is deeply individualized, developing in a unique way with each person she works with. In addition to talking, she invites clients to engage with dreams, visions, active imagination, and expressive methods such as sandplay, painting, and drawing. She understands this work as creating a 'liminal space' — sometimes called the 'third' — in which both analyst and client may participate.

She has extensive training and experience working with infants, children, and adolescents, including early trauma and attachment issues. She also works with adults, noting that emotionally charged material often emerges in symbolic form through dreams and expressive methods, without requiring a reconstruction of childhood. She offers consultation on work with both adults and children.

Dr. Sherwood teaches at the Chicago Institute in both the Two-year Postgraduate Program and the Analytic Training Program, and also teaches internationally at other Jung Institutes, both in person and online. She sees clients online and in person at her office in Evanston, Illinois.
