Tricia Appleton

Tricia Appleton, M.D., SEP is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist based in Atlanta/Decatur, Georgia. She describes herself as a 'psychotherapist kind of psychiatrist,' reflecting her deep commitment to the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for genuine change. Her approach is grounded in the belief that our inner experience directly impacts the external world, and that psychotherapy can transform both.

Her training in residency was psychodynamic and developmental, rooted in psychoanalytic principles, and she has since incorporated experiential psychotherapy, the trauma model, and attachment theory — the study of how we develop in relationship — into her eclectic clinical style.
