Kyle Lapidus, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist and neuroscientist whose pioneering research on ketamine has contributed significantly to the field of psychedelic-informed interventional psychiatry. He earned his B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard University and his M.D. and Ph.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completing his psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai's Icahn School of Medicine, where he conducted translational research on novel antidepressant mechanisms. Dr. Lapidus is the principal investigator on several federally funded grants, including a NARSAD Young Investigator Award studying oxidative stress biomarkers predicting ketamine efficacy for depression and an NIMH Career Development Award investigating biomarkers of anhedonia in major depression. As the Medical Director and co-founder of Journey Clinical, he has overseen the delivery of more than five hundred thousand hours of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, building the largest clinical platform connecting therapists with psychiatric oversight for psychedelic-informed treatment. Dr. Lapidus also founded Affective Care, his private psychiatric practice in New York. His work represents a distinctive integration of rigorous neuroscience research with scalable clinical implementation, positioning him as a key figure in translating psychedelic medicine from academic research into accessible patient care across more than twenty-five states.
