Gary Hellman is a New York State licensed psychoanalyst who has been practicing psychotherapy in New York City since 1978. He holds a Master of Divinity, a PsyD, and a PhD, and is certified by the Blanton-Peale Institute in individual psychotherapy, marriage and family therapy, and group psychotherapy. He founded the St. John's Pastoral Counseling Center in 1978 and has served as both executive director and president of the Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute. He is also an assisting priest at St. James' Church in Manhattan. His practice is rooted in spiritually informed psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, drawing upon the insights of Carl Jung, behavioral sciences, and philosophy.
