Sydney Gideon

Sydney Gideon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of SG Therapy Group, an EMDR-focused psychotherapy practice with locations in Chicago, Illinois and Beachwood, Ohio. She completed her graduate training at Columbia University's School of Social Work in New York, where she concentrated on health, mental health, and disabilities, and holds licensure in both Illinois and Ohio. Gideon is an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist who integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed modalities, and EMDR into a comprehensive treatment framework addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, attachment disruptions, mood disorders, and relational difficulties. Her scholarly engagement extends beyond clinical practice; she published research on dating experiences in the Journal of Social Psychology Research in September 2022, reflecting a sustained interest in the intersection of relational dynamics and psychological wellbeing.
