Pria Alpern

Pria Alpern, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist and approved consultant who founded Center Psychology Group, a group practice specializing in integrative trauma therapy with offices in midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn. She is also the founder of the Manhattan Center for Trauma Studies, where she oversees continuing education trainings in EMDR and trauma-informed psychotherapy. Dr. Alpern completed the EMDR Clinical Affiliate Program at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies Trauma Treatment Center in New York City and holds advanced-level certification as a Somatic Experiencing practitioner from the Somatic Experiencing International institute. Her clinical work integrates EMDR with somatic modalities and attachment-informed approaches, with particular expertise in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through specialized training from Postpartum Support International. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Art History from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, where she also serves as a special adjunct clinical professor.
