Mary Culley

Mary Culley, LCSW, is a certified EMDR therapist and EMDRIA-approved consultant-in-training who operates MJC Psychotherapy Services, a private practice in Montclair, New Jersey. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University Manhattan, completed in 2006, and has built a clinical career that integrates top-down cognitive and bottom-up somatic approaches to trauma treatment. Culley completed her EMDR Basic Training in 2016 and earned her Somatic Experiencing certification in 2023, and she pursues ongoing advanced training in EMDR and Inner Relational Focusing under the mentorship of Deany Laliotis. Her clinical expertise encompasses simple and complex trauma, recent traumatic events, dissociative processes and parts work, grief and loss, attachment challenges, anxiety, depression, and addiction. Her earlier career included work with adolescents and families under the mentorship of Daniel Minuchin, focusing on structural family therapy with Latino youth, and positions at Care Plus NJ and Novo Psychological Services. Culley offers both in-person sessions at her Montclair office and virtual therapy, and she accepts several insurance plans including UnitedHealthcare and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield.
