Emily Wietmarschen

Emily Wietmarschen, LPC, LCPC, is an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist and the Clinical Director of Rock Creek Therapy, a psychotherapy practice in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. She brings over seven years of direct clinical experience to her work with adults, with particular expertise in trauma, PTSD, abuse and neglect recovery, life transitions, identity and sexuality concerns, parenting and family-of-origin dynamics, emotional regulation, and grief. Wietmarschen is licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, with telehealth privileges extending to Florida, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Illinois. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered, collaborative, and integrative, drawing on EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, humanistic sandtray therapy, and expressive arts interventions. She is currently pursuing full EMDR Consultant status through EMDRIA and provides EMDR consultation to therapists navigating the complexities of the modality. Wietmarschen works primarily with clients aged eighteen to forty-five and describes her clinical style as direct, authentic, and infused with warmth and humor.
