Alexandra (Sandi) Richman

Alexandra (Sandi) Richman is an EMDR Europe Accredited Trainer and Consultant, and one of the most senior EMDR figures in the world. She was trained directly by Dr Francine Shapiro, the founder of EMDR, in 1993/1994 and has been using EMDR within her own clinical practice for over 30 years.

For 12 years, Sandi served as a Consultant Psychologist in the Traumatic Stress Service (TSS) at the Maudsley Hospital in South London — one of the UK's premier psychiatric institutions — where she headed up the EMDR service, specialising in torture survivors, complex PTSD, and dissociative disorders. She is the first British clinician to be accredited as an EMDR trainer and has been a keynote speaker at international conferences on EMDR and complex trauma.

Through Richman EMDR Training, Sandi conducts interactive EMDR trainings in small cohorts (maximum 20 participants) and larger groups (maximum 55 participants). The programme covers Part 1 (3 days), Part 2 (1 day), and Part 3 (3 days), delivering the complete standard EMDR training as defined by EMDR Europe Association, with additional protocols included in Part 3. The training is fully approved by the EMDR-Europe Association and is designed as a hands-on clinical skills programme to help practitioners integrate EMDR with their own psychotherapy approach. Trainings may on occasion be delivered in part or in full by Dr Ines Santos.
