Tewes H. Wischmann is an associate professor at Heidelberg University, clinical psychologist, psychological psychotherapist, and Jungian psychoanalyst certified by both the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Analytische Psychologie (DGAP) and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). He has been a member of the scientific staff of the Institute of Medical Psychology at Heidelberg University Hospital since 1990, where his research focus for over thirty-five years has been the psychological dimensions of infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and endometriosis.

Wischmann is a co-author of multiple AWMF clinical guidelines on psychosomatic diagnostics and therapy for fertility disorders, fertility preservation, recurrent miscarriage, and endometriosis, as well as the ESHRE Guidelines for Counselling in Infertility. With an h-index of 29 (Scopus), he has published extensively on male infertility, couple counseling for the unfulfilled desire for a child, and psychosocial interventions in reproductive medicine. In addition to his academic career, Wischmann maintains a private practice in Heidelberg focused on supervision and analytical psychology in the Jungian tradition, bringing his depth-psychological orientation to bear on clinical consultation and the training of other professionals.
