Robert Sheavly is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Jungian Analyst practicing in Washington, D.C., Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Lisbon, Portugal. He received his Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and completed extensive post-graduate study at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, and with the Philadelphia Jung Institute. He is board certified in addictions and is a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, bringing a breadth of clinical training uncommon among analytically oriented practitioners.

Sheavly has held significant institutional roles across the Jungian community. He served as Director of Training for the Philadelphia Jung Institute and currently functions as a senior training analyst with both the Philadelphia Jung Institute and the I-RSJA. He has served as Treasurer of the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts and of the Jungian Analysts of Washington Association (JAWA), and as a former Director of Education for JAWA. His earlier career included serving as Family Program Director at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and holding a faculty appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Beyond clinical work, Sheavly is the author of Ensouling AIDS: The Archetypal Dimension of the LGBT Choral Experience, and he has lectured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia on topics including active imagination, narcissistic character, alchemy, regression, and recovery from childhood abuse. He is also an accomplished church organist and choral singer who has performed with the National Symphony. He directs Central Washington Psychotherapy Associates.
