Ricardo Carretero Gramage (born 1957, Menorca) is a medical psychiatrist, Jungian psychoanalyst, and didactic analyst member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology. He is the founder and director of the Metaxu Psychotherapy Center in Palma de Mallorca, where he has maintained a private practice in psychiatry and psychoanalysis since 1989, having previously practiced in Rome and Madrid.
Carretero Gramage earned his medical degree from the University of Barcelona in 1980, completed his psychiatric training cum laude at Sapienza University in Rome in 1989, and received his doctorate from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2000 with the thesis "Analytical Psychology or the Art of Dialogue," awarded summa cum laude by unanimity. He has been certified as an IAAP analyst since 1998 and serves as both a titular psychoanalyst and clinical supervisor.
As an academic, he has served since 1996 as professor of General Theory of Complexes and Psychopathology for the master's program in Analytical Psychology at Universitat Ramon Llull and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is the author of several books including "Simbolo, creatividad y metafora" and "Psicoterapia junguiana y posjunguiana: Perspectivas de la psicoterapia dialogica," and is a translator of key Italian works in the Jungian tradition, including Mario Trevi's "Metaforas del Simbolo." He also promotes the Art and Deep Psychology Seminars, sponsored by the Miro Foundation of Palma de Mallorca.
