James Hollis, PhD, is a Jungian analyst in Washington, D.C., trained in Zurich and co-founder of the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts / C.G. Jung Institute of Philadelphia. Before retraining at mid-life, he was a professor of literature and philosophy, influences that remain central to his psychological writing. He has directed Jung societies in Houston and Washington, D.C., and is the author of 22 books on analytical psychology, meaning, and the second half of life.
