Gilberto Cavalcanti is a clinical and organizational psychologist and Jungian analyst based in the Catete neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a member of the Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia Analítica (SBPA), the national Jungian society affiliated with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). Cavalcanti was among the founding generation of Jungian analysts in Rio de Janeiro, having been selected in 1989 as one of five candidates for the Jungian analytical training program established under the guidance of Carlos Amadeu Botelho Byington, a pivotal figure in the development of analytical psychology in Brazil.

In addition to his private analytical practice, Cavalcanti has contributed to research on psychosocial care in Rio de Janeiro, studying criteria for patient admission and the continuity of care at Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) in the city. His dual orientation as both a clinical and organizational psychologist reflects a breadth of practice that encompasses individual depth work alongside institutional and systemic engagement with psychological services.
