Gary S. Toub, Ph.D., is a diplomate Jungian analyst with over 40 years of clinical experience, currently practicing in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, where he also offers spiritual direction. He is a graduate of the Training Institute of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and the Research Society for Process-Oriented Psychology. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Toub serves as a Senior Training Analyst at the C. G. Jung Institute of Colorado, where he has supervised and trained clinicians, taught numerous classes to the general public, and for over 25 years served as President and Director of Training.

Dr. Toub sees adults of all ages and specializes in a Jungian approach to spiritual direction, frequently employing dream interpretation and active imagination to explore the unconscious, resolve problems, and assist the individuation — or self-actualization — process. He is also interested in synchronicity, mind-body phenomena, alchemical active imagination, Taoist philosophy, shamanism, and mystical experiences and practices. He offers both short-term and long-term work tailored to individual needs, with face-to-face sessions as well as phone and online video/Skype consultations. Reduced rates are available upon request.

Dr. Toub has authored a number of articles on Jungian themes. His article 'The Usefulness of the Useless' was included in the 1991 anthology 'Meeting the Shadow: The Hidden Power of the Dark Side of Human Nature,' and his 1997 article 'Being Jungian in Today's World' explores the self-regulating nature of the psyche and the value of self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and freedom from externally imposed models of wellness. He describes himself as passionately committed to a Jungian spiritual practice involving an ongoing and ever-deepening relationship with the Self, listening carefully to the wisdom of the psyche through dreams, synchronicities, and body signals.
