Bartosz Samitowski is a Jungian analyst, certified psychotherapist, and cultural anthropologist who occupies a distinctive position at the intersection of analytical psychology, clinical practice, and ethnographic research. He is an individual member of the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) based in Zürich, and serves as President and training director of the Association of Jungian Analysts in Poland (Stowarzyszenie Analityków Jungowskich). He also holds the position of vice-president of the Polish Federation of Psychotherapy, reflecting his leadership within the broader psychotherapeutic community.
Samitowski's clinical experience encompasses over two thousand hours of specialized training and more than ten years of therapeutic practice. He runs a private practice of psychotherapy and Jungian analysis in Warsaw's Old Town, offering individual therapy, clinical supervision for psychotherapists, and training for candidates pursuing certification as psychotherapists and Jungian analysts. He is also a lecturer at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Warsaw, where his academic work informs his clinical understanding of the collective unconscious and cultural dimensions of the psyche.
His current research project, 'The Polish Republic of Dreams,' initiated in March 2020, has collected nearly a thousand dreams from over 1,800 participants, investigating the phenomenon of social dreaming in Poland during the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The project has revealed intensified and vivid dream patterns with recurring themes of children, troubled waters, and monstrous creatures. Samitowski is also experienced in working with expatriates living in Poland, bringing a cross-cultural sensitivity to his analytic practice.
