Barbara Black Koltuv is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Jungian Analyst with over sixty years of clinical experience in New York City. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University in 1962 and began her psychoanalytic practice in 1963. She earned a Diploma in Psychoanalysis from New York University's Post-Doctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in 1969 and became a Jungian Analyst through the C.G. Jung Institute of New York in 1980, where she trained under Edward Edinger and Christopher Whitmont.

Koltuv has made substantial contributions to the literature of analytical psychology, particularly in the areas of feminine psychology, mythology, and the archetypal imagination. Her published works include The Book of Lilith, Weaving Woman, Solomon and Sheba, Amulets, Talismans, and Magical Jewelry, and Nights by the Wall: A Guide to Dreams, Dreamwork, and Profound Self-Knowing. These texts explore the intersection of depth psychology, symbol, and feminine experience, and have been translated into multiple languages.

She served on the Board of the C.G. Jung Institute of New York and on the faculty as a supervisor and training analyst. In 2003, she was a founding member of the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association, where she continues as a faculty member, supervisor, and senior analyst. Her practice focuses on adults and seniors, addressing relationship issues, anxiety, depression, creative blocks, and mid-life transitions. She offers both in-person and virtual sessions.
