Andrew Sherwood is a Canadian-born Jungian Analyst and Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in the Kansas City metro area. Born near Montreal, Quebec, he has lived in Canada, England, and several US states including New York, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Missouri, and has since become a Naturalized US Citizen. In the late 1970s, he released one of Toronto's first independently made music LPs before moving to London, where he spent the better part of a decade writing English pop music and producing visual works including painting and photography.
In 1987, Sherwood attended Frazer Boa's film series 'The Way of the Dream' and recognized his calling to become a Jungian Analyst — a process that took 34 years to complete. He holds a B.A. (Honours), an M.A. in Crisis Intervention & Suicidology, a Ph.D. with emphasis in Social Psychology & Social Critical Theory, and a Master of Social Work completed in 2014. He graduated from the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts' (OAJA) Analyst Training Program, earning his Diploma in Analytical Psychology, and is a member of the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP). He began a way of life emphasizing Tonglen and Lojong practice in 2002.
Sherwood works primarily with adults, often over the age of 35 and frequently over 60, from all walks of life and across a wide range of races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, religions, and spiritualities. Dream interpretation is a cornerstone of his practice, though he is also able to work on specific difficulties such as depression, anxiety, grief, relationships, and intimacy. He is one of very few certified Jungian analysts in the Kansas City region and has been working with clients' dreams for 15 years.
