# How should you use Seba?

Seba works best when you treat it less like a search box and more like a reading room with a resident scholar. You can ask a quick question, but the deeper use is to bring Sebastian the image, symptom, dream, text, feeling, or pattern that will not leave you alone, and then give him enough context to read it well.

**For dreams, bring the whole scene.** Do not only ask what a snake, house, or dead relative means. Tell Sebastian what happened, what you felt, what stood out, what has been happening in your life, and what the dream seems to be asking of you. The dream tools are structured to help build that richer prompt. A bare symbol gets a general answer; a symbol inside your actual life gets a much sharper one.

**For intimate material, be concrete.** If you are asking about a relationship, a repeating conflict, a fear, a body sensation, or a family pattern, give Sebastian the emotional facts. He is strongest when the question includes the pressure of the real situation: what happened, where it hurts, what you keep doing, what you cannot stop thinking about, what you are afraid might be true. You do not have to make it literary. The psyche usually enters through the plain sentence.

**For research, use the library tools.** The normal Sebastian chat is conversational: it answers from the research corpus, your question, and the retrieved passages it can bring forward. The Research and Deep Research experiences are different. They are built to query the Oracle directly, search the library, and draft a cited, source-grounded response. Use those when you are writing, building a bibliography, tracing an idea through authors, or trying to understand where a concept actually comes from.

**For exploration, use the site as a graph.** The Library gives you books and essays. The Concordance traces concepts across the corpus. The Directory helps you find analysts, practitioners, organizations, and programs. Pills are finished answers to common questions; they are not merely prompts. If a pill opens something, follow its links into the figures, books, and related ideas around it.

**If you sign in, Seba can remember.** Your profile lets Sebastian carry forward your conversations, saved readings, and recurring themes. That matters for power users: dreams, symbols, relationship patterns, and spiritual questions often reveal themselves over time, not in a single answer.

The real method is simple: bring the image honestly, give it context, and let Sebastian answer from the library rather than from generic advice. Seba is strongest where ordinary self-help becomes too thin — where the material needs psychology, myth, religion, philosophy, and symbolic reading at once.
