flaying goats and singeing swine in the court. And Antinous with a laugh came straight to Telemachus, and clasped his hand, and spoke, and addressed1 him: “Telemachus, thou braggart, unrestrained in daring, let no more any evil deed or word be in thy heart.
ὣς φάτʼ Ἀθηναίη κούρη Διός· οὐδʼ ἄρʼ ἔτι δὴν Τηλέμαχος παρέμιμνεν, ἐπεὶ θεοῦ ἔκλυεν αὐδήν. βῆ δʼ ἰέναι πρὸς δῶμα, φίλον τετιημένος ἦτορ, εὗρε δʼ ἄρα μνηστῆρας ἀγήνορας ἐν μεγάροισιν, αἶγας ἀνιεμένους σιάλους θʼ εὕοντας ἐν αὐλῇ. Ἀντίνοος δʼ ἰθὺς γελάσας κίε Τηλεμάχοιο, ἔν τʼ ἄρα οἱ φῦ χειρί, ἔπος τʼ ἔφατʼ ἔκ τʼ ὀνόμαζε·
