Εὔμαιʼ, μάλα τίς τοι ἐλεύσεται ἐνθάδʼ ἑταῖρος καὶ γνώριμος ἄλλος, ἐπεὶ κύνες οὐχ ὑλάουσιν, ἀλλὰ περισσαίνουσι· ποδῶν δʼ ὑπὸ δοῦπον ἀκούω.
