James A. Hall
James A. Hall was an American Jungian analyst and psychiatrist whose Jungian Dream Interpretation: A Handbook of Theory and Practice (1983) became a widely used practitioner’s introduction to Jung’s approach to dreams. Hall trained at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich and practiced in Dallas, Texas, where he was a founding member of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts.
Hall’s contribution to the tradition is pedagogical: a clear clinical grammar for the Jungian reading of dream material — amplification, subjective and objective levels, the dream series, the relation of dream to complex and archetype — presented for analysts-in-training and serious readers. See hall-jungian-dream-interpretation for the handbook itself.
