About

The Refuge offers one of the more accessible price points for trauma-focused residential treatment while maintaining a strong experiential and somatic orientation. The 96-acre Florida campus and extended-stay option (up to one year) allow for the kind of sustained, deep therapeutic work that short-term programs cannot provide. Inclusive programming for LGBTQ+ individuals and pregnant women.

Depth Orientation

Somatic Experiencing addresses body-held trauma at the nervous system level. Narrative exposure therapy works with life story and meaning-making. Art therapy provides symbolic/imaginal processing. Adventure therapy uses embodied challenge for psychological growth. Treatment philosophy emphasizes physical, spiritual, and emotional healing rather than symptom management alone.
