Wesley Ryan

Wesley Ryan, M.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist and addiction psychiatrist based in Los Angeles who has established himself as a leading figure in psychedelic psychiatry since founding his clinical practice in 2016. He received his medical degree from UC Irvine, completed psychiatry residency at UCLA-San Fernando Valley, and pursued fellowship training in addiction psychiatry at the University of Washington. Dr. Ryan is among the first psychiatrists in the United States to offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with contemporaneous in-office psychotherapy, combining pharmacological intervention with genuine psychotherapeutic depth. His scholarly contributions include a chapter in Phil Wolfson's The Ketamine Papers, a peer-reviewed publication on long-term clinical outcomes from ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with Boris Heifets at Stanford, and co-authored ethical guidelines for ketamine clinicians with Raquel Bennett of KRIYA Institute. Dr. Ryan's broader psychedelic engagement spans service as an adherence rater for MAPS MDMA-assisted psychotherapy clinical trials, clinical trial site hosting for Cybin and Kernel, and on-site harm reduction work through the Zendo Project at Burning Man. He is recognized as the only physician specialist on hallucinogen persisting perception disorder in California by the Perception Restoration Foundation.
