About
Shannon Clare Carlin, M.A., L.M.F.T., is the Chief of Therapy Training and Supervision at the MAPS Public Benefit Corporation, where she leads the development and implementation of clinical training and supervision programs that prepare clinicians to deliver MDMA-assisted therapy in approved clinical settings around the world. She has worked with psychedelic therapy since 2011 and served as a co-therapist on MAPS Phase 2 clinical trials researching MDMA-assisted therapy for anxiety associated with life-threatening illness and MDMA-assisted therapy for severe PTSD. She currently works with clients through the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy, delivering transpersonal approaches, psychedelic integration, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. She employs a client-centered approach intended to highlight and cultivate a client's internal strengths, incorporating talk therapy, reflection, experiential activities, and optional homework assignments. She received her master's degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from CIIS and a bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz.
