About
Peter Oehen is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who trained at the University of Basel and received board certification in psychiatry and psychotherapy in 1988. He maintained a private practice in Biberist, Switzerland from 1988 to 2020, during which he became one of the foremost practitioners of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy in Switzerland. Oehen served as principal investigator for a Phase II MDMA/PTSD clinical trial in 2013 and, from 2014 to 2020, held authorization under the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health limited medical use program to administer LSD and MDMA in both individual and group therapeutic settings. Alongside Peter Gasser, he obtained approximately fifty case-by-case licenses and developed a psychedelic-assisted group therapy model utilizing MDMA and LSD, treating patients primarily with chronic complex post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders, and other post-traumatic conditions. A member of SÄPT, the Swiss Medical Society for Psycholytic Therapy, Oehen currently serves on the Ethical Advisory Board of the ALPS Foundation in Geneva. His published research on MDMA- and LSD-assisted group therapy models has contributed foundational clinical evidence to the field.
