About

Maria Papaspyrou, MSc, is a senior BACP-accredited psychotherapist, supervisor, and systemic facilitator based in Brighton, UK. She grew up in Athens, Greece and relocated to the UK in 1995 to pursue training as a psychotherapist. Her initial training in integrative psychotherapy taught her the value of the relational as a cornerstone of therapeutic work; her later training in Jungian theory added greater depth of inquiry; and her most recent training in systemic constellations pulled all her earlier trainings together by adding the systemic lens. She has co-founded and co-directs with Dr. Tim Read the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy, with the aim of cultivating a psychedelic-aware psychotherapeutic community in the UK through continuing professional development events and the two-year Depth Relational Process training. She is co-editor of 'Psychedelic Mysteries of the Feminine' (2019) and co-editor of 'Psychedelics and Psychotherapy: The Healing Potential of Expanded States' (with Tim Read and foreword by Gabor Mate). She is bilingual in English and Greek, with over fifteen years of clinical experience.
