About
Ingrid Pacey is a retired psychiatrist with nearly fifty years of private practice focused predominantly on women trauma survivors, post-traumatic stress disorder, and complex PTSD arising from early sexual abuse. She holds the MBBS and FRCP(C) in psychiatry and trained in Holotropic Breathwork with Stanislav Grof from 1987 to 1990. From 2010 to 2016, Pacey served as principal investigator for the MAPS Phase 2 clinical trial of MDMA-assisted therapy in Vancouver, one of the foundational studies demonstrating MDMA's efficacy in treating PTSD. Since 2021, she has served as Clinical Director of TheraPsil, where she oversees all training programs in psilocybin- and MDMA-assisted psychotherapy and has directly trained healthcare practitioners across Canada. Her trajectory from decades of trauma-focused psychiatric practice through pioneering clinical research to leadership in practitioner training represents a distinctive arc in the development of psychedelic-assisted therapy. Pacey's combined expertise in conventional psychiatry, breathwork traditions, and psychedelic-assisted modalities positions her as one of the most experienced clinicians in the Canadian psychedelic therapy landscape.
