About
Terrill L. Gibson, Ph.D. is a Jungian analyst, ordained clergy, and licensed marriage and family therapist with a nearly 50-year career at the intersection of Jungian analysis and pastoral care. He was trained in a tradition that views whatever psycho-spiritual pain or disorientation a client brings to the office as a doorway — a portal into exploring and actualizing a deeper, truer way of living, and fulfilling a destiny and artistry he believes resides within each person he sees.
Dr. Gibson co-directs a pastoral counseling agency that coordinates a two-year Master of Education in Pastoral Counseling with the University of Puget Sound. His clinical work encompasses Jungian analysis, marriage and family therapy, pastoral psychotherapy, clinical supervision and consultation, and professional and public seminars.
He is the author of 'The Liminal and the Luminescent' (2021), which offers Jungian reflections on ensouled living. Dr. Gibson works in a sliding-scale setting that offers appropriate psychotherapy services to as diverse a community as possible, regardless of faith, race, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, or national origin.
Clinical Orientation
Jungian analysis integrated with pastoral psychotherapy. Views presenting concerns as portals into deeper, truer ways of living. Writes extensively on the connections between depth psychology and spirituality. His concept of 'liminal and luminescent' living captures his approach to ensouled existence amid cultural crisis.
