Karen Harper

Karen Harper, PhD, LCSW is a holistic Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience and a PhD in depth psychology. Her private practice is located in East Nashville, Tennessee, where she specializes in trauma, abuse, and grief therapy. She is Level II trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which she finds especially helpful for these issues.

Karen primarily takes a Jungian approach to psychotherapy, working with the unconscious aspects of the Self. This mode of therapy is especially helpful for people in the creative arts fields and during life transitions. She incorporates dreamwork, sandplay, shadow work, and active imagination into her practice, drawing on the depth psychology tradition that views psychotherapy as literally meaning 'care of the soul.'
