Thais Heinke

Thais Heinke is a physician, pathologist, and Jungian analyst whose career uniquely bridges biomedical science and depth psychology. Born in São Paulo, she studied medicine at the Faculdade de Medicina do ABC, completed her residency in pathology at the Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP) in 2004, and defended her doctoral thesis in pathology in 2009. She holds additional certifications from the Sociedade Brasileira de Patologia and the Sociedade Brasileira de Citopatologia, and has undertaken fellowships at the Mayo Clinic and Harvard University.

In parallel with her distinguished academic career, Heinke pursued intensive training in psychoanalysis and analytical psychology. She earned post-doctoral certification in psychoanalysis and completed training in cognitive-behavioral therapy before receiving her diploma as a Jungian analyst from the Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia Analítica (SBPA) in 2022, affiliated with the International Association for Analytical Psychology. She currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at UNIFESP-EPM while maintaining a private psychotherapy practice in São Paulo.

Heinke's scholarly output spans both pathology and psychology, with over thirty peer-reviewed publications, multiple book chapters, and numerous conference presentations. Her research in pathology focuses on cervical cancer screening and cytopathology, while her psychotherapeutic work draws on Jungian analytical methods, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and an integrative understanding of psyche and soma shaped by her dual training in medicine and depth psychology. She sees private patients only and does not accept insurance.
