Sonia Giorgi

Sonia Giorgi is a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst of Jungian orientation practicing in Bergamo, Italy. She is a member of the Associazione per la Ricerca in Psicologia Analitica (ARPA), an IAAP-member society, and a therapist and teacher of Sandplay Therapy through the Associazione Italiana Sandplay Therapy (AISPT) and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST).

Giorgi's clinical and scholarly work is distinguished by her specialization in Sandplay Therapy (il Gioco della Sabbia), a Jungian therapeutic modality grounded in the self-healing function of the unconscious through the production of images and the creative use of the hands. She serves as a didactic therapist within AISPT, training the next generation of Sandplay practitioners, and has conducted seminars and continuing education programs on Sandplay with children and adults across Italian training institutions.

In addition to her clinical practice, Giorgi holds a position as a teacher of literary subjects at the Liceo Linguistico Giovanni Falcone in Bergamo, reflecting a dual vocation that bridges the humanities and depth psychology. Her research interests encompass literature, the artistic imaginary, psychomythology, and questions of gender, bringing a distinctively interdisciplinary perspective to her analytic work. She has published on Sandplay Therapy and contributes regularly to the scholarly discourse of Italian analytical psychology.
