About
Former Roman Catholic priest for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati (ordained 19 years, until 1993) who transitioned to Jungian analysis — brings rare theological depth and pastoral wisdom to analytical work. Founded the Ohio Valley Association of Jungian Analysts and established Columbus's first Jungian practice in 1994 at JungHaus on West Third Avenue in the Short North. Practices alongside wife Ellen Kandoian Sweeney, also a Jungian analyst. Served as Associate Professor of Pastoral Psychology and Counseling and Academic Dean at the Athenaeum of Ohio. Taught psychology of religion at The Ohio State University, University of Dayton, Xavier University, and Mount St. Joseph University. Active member of the International Faculty Wing of the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich. Former chairman of the Board of Directors of the C.G. Jung Association of Central Ohio.
