About

Nora Swan-Foster, MA, ATR-BC, LPC, NCPsyA, is a Diplomat Jungian Analyst and board-certified art therapist based in Boulder, Colorado, with over 35 years of practice. She holds a rare dual credential as an IAAP Jungian analyst and board-certified art therapist, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Analytical Psychology.

As a Jungian psychoanalyst, Nora is deeply interested in the unconscious — what is not speakable, knowable, or seen by the world around us. She works with the internal emotional divide and isolation that can lead to experiences of emotional darkness, including post-traumatic memories that may present as depression, grief and loss, or panic and anxiety. She integrates dreams, art, and writing along with Brainspotting and Focusing techniques into the psychotherapeutic process.

Nora has a particular expertise in using art therapy with pregnancy and childbearing-related issues, and has edited a book of chapters titled 'Art Therapy and Childbearing Issues.' She is also the author of 'Jungian Art Therapy' (Routledge), which informs her short-term consultations for artists and writers seeking to facilitate the creative process, explore blocks, and nourish renewal.

Nora offers services including Jungian analysis, Jungian art therapy, clinical consultations with a psychoanalytic focus, and creative renewal consultations and workshops. She currently operates on a hybrid model of in-office, telephone, and telehealth sessions from her office at 2919 Valmont Street, Suite 209, Boulder, CO 80301.
