About
Neusa Vaz Macia is a psychologist and Jungian analyst registered with the Conselho Regional de Psicologia (CRP 06/4672) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is a member of the Instituto Junguiano de Sao Paulo, a non-profit organization founded in 1994 that serves as the regional representative of the Associacao Junguiana do Brasil, which is affiliated with the International Association for Analytical Psychology. Vaz Macia's scholarly work centers on the method of active imagination as developed by C.G. Jung, a subject she explored in depth in her 2012 monograph Imaginacao Ativa: Patchwork da Psique, completed under the supervision of Leticia Capriotti. Her research traces Jung's trajectory in conceiving the active imagination method, examining the interplay of imagination, fantasy, and archetypal imagery within the analytic process and their application in clinical work. Through her exploration of how patients encounter and engage with archetypal material during analysis, Vaz Macia contributes to the ongoing theoretical and practical development of active imagination as a central technique in Jungian psychotherapy. She offers both in-person and online consultations from her practice in Sao Paulo.
