Matilde Fernandes

Matilde Fernandes is a psychologist, family therapist, and Jungian analyst based in Sintra, Portugal. She holds a degree in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Lisbon and a Master's degree in Psychology of Justice from the University of Minho. She is an effective member of the Portuguese Society of Family Therapy (SPTF) and one of the founding members of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Psicologia Analítica (SPPA), the only Portuguese organization officially recognized by the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) for the training of Jungian analysts. Since 2013, Fernandes has pursued advanced specialization in Analytical Psychology through the Spanish Society of Analytical Psychology (SEPA), with principal research interests in dream analysis and archetypes. She has presented at national and international conferences and published scholarly work on archetypal themes, particularly the hero archetype and primary defenses of the self. She also serves as a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists and has been a trainer in ethics and deontology modules since 2012. She offers clinical and systemic psychology services in Portuguese, English, and French.
